Breakfast Club (supported by Asda –Totton)
Abbotswood’s Breakfast Club has been running for several years now and has proven to
be popular. Although this is a Government initiative, originally relating
to extended schools provision, Abbotswood felt there was a real need to
offer such a service to its parents.
Funding was made available and Abbotswood was successful in securing a grant.
This funding has assisted in various ways, from
provision of crockery and cutlery to partially enabling the creation of our Community
Room, where the children enjoy their breakfast.
The current cost is: £1.90 per child per day, and the menu varies
each day with a choice of hot food, with cereals being available each day
all prepared by HC3S.
We are very fortunate to have established a relationship with our local
Asda store, which has provided us with breakfast cereal on many
occasions since our club began. We have also taken part in several
of Asda’s initiatives such as The Big Healthy Eat campaign.
Children are admitted at 8 a.m. each day for breakfast, and supervised
by two members of our support team, who in addition to providing
adult supervision, also entertain the children with various games
and initiatives.
Activities
then finish at 8.50 a.m. ready for children to gather in the playground,
when the school day begins at 8.55 a.m.
If you are interested in booking your child in (either as an individual
or block booking), please contact the school office Details on the Contact
Us Page.
Please note bookings can only be made in advance (not on the day), together with payment.
