The
following list of individuals, companies and organisations have in some
way or another made a significant contribution to Abbotswood in various
ways: time, effort, expertise, resources and funding to name but a few.
We would like to acknowledge their contribution to the success and future
development of Abbotswood.
Mr
Derek Caplen (DeeCee Upholstery).
As well as being a former Abbotswood parent, Mr Caplen''s company was one
of the first sponsors of the school newsletter.
He also renovated and provided the upholstery for a comemorative bench which
now occupies pride of place within Abbotswood.
Mr Mark Bartlett.
An Abbotswood parent who in his professional role as a carpenter very kindly
constructed the perimeter fence around the school pond. The work was undertaken
over a couple of week-ends, both incidentially in foul weather conditions,
but Mr Bartlett completed the work prior to the Ofsted inspection that occurred

Mr Karl Collier (Collier Wheeler Ltd).
Mr Collier a former Abbotswood parent, has assisted the school in numerous
ways. In his professional capacity as a decorating contractor he has supplied
manpower, and materials to assist on 'Paint The School' days, as well as
currently sponsoring the Sports Hall.
Mr Bob de Jong (Caradan Ltd.).
Still a current Abbotswood parent, and serving school governor, Mr de Jong
has assisted in various ways. Caradan have also been newsletter sponsors,
and Mr de Jong has personally been involved with some of past and current
intiatives. He has co co-ordinated the annual firework display for several
years, as well as providing time, labour and resources at such fundraising
events as the Abbotswood Carwash.
The Jassi family.
They have very kindly provided the school with Christmas trees over the
years (usually two each year)
Mr Antony Penny (Waterworks).
Mr Penny is still a current Abbotswood parent. In his professional
capacity he has kindly undertaken remedial repairs to various plumbing problems
over the last couple of years. He too has sponsored the school newsletter.
Mr Shaun Francis (Electracare).
Mr Francis who is a current Abbotswood parent, has assisted in numerous
ways. He has kindly undertaken remedial electrical repairs as well as supporting
the school newsletter through his company. He has provided technical expertise
at school events such as firework displays and Christmas fairs, summer productions,
carol concerts, as well as actually undertaking residential school trips
in his free time.
